My friend, Ray Hostetler has been flying model helicopters and full scale helicopters for well over 20 years. His first venture into spreading his knowledge was Ray's Authoritative Helicopter Manual. Recognizing that most people would rather watch a video instead of reading a book, Ray has created a series of DVDs that cover just about every facet of our hobby. The series starts, strangely enough with Volume 4, which is a building video. While Ray goes into great depth about each piece of equipment he's working on, he also teaches you the theory behind it so you will understand what's going on, even though you aren't using the exact same radio or helicopter.
Ray and I don't agree on everything. I'm not big on balancing but Ray swears by it and covers it from head to toe in Volume 6. I've seen quite a few of Ray's machines fly and they are all as smooth as glass.
